<section id="HF61B089A7EFF48639DB2CD739C973CD7" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Restoring Temporary to TANF Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HC2DDA096905044B1BB25D2DF614D3572"><enum>2.</enum><header>Set-aside of funds for core work purposes</header> <subsection id="HFEBB8F4F94704F91B47A5ED02E1E8028"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Section 408(a) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/608">42 U.S.C. 608(a)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<paragraph id="H3002AD811F804D37B685E8A87DCB5FDA"><enum>(13)</enum><header>Requirement to expend funds for core work activities</header><text>A State to which a grant is made under section 403(a)(1) for a fiscal year shall expend not less than 25 percent of the grant amount on work supports, education and training, apprenticeships, non-recurring short term benefits, work activities (as defined in section 407(d)), and case management needed to assist individuals with developing an individual responsibility plan pursuant to subsection (b) of this section.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> <subsection id="H89FFB25424AE41B8B0E948A5AFFBA314"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect on October 1, 2026.</text></subsection></section>
