R. 2306</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250324">March 24, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="M001194">Mr. Moolenaar</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="C001078">Mr. Connolly</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001218">Mr. McCormick</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000568">Mr. Griffith</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000562">Mr. Lynch</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="M001196">Mr. Moulton</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HII00">Committee on Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To reauthorize the Adams Memorial Commission, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H64C73D69991E4D589B0C7C3C7572629E" style="OLC"><section id="H34B27CC627A04487A63386F8258A0B78" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>The Adams Memorial-Great American Heroes Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H032864BDCA5D4C76A5C6C5D722BB72A5"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extension of authority; Location of memorial</header><subsection id="H5E3B9D60F968416C803EA594B3371D89"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Adams Memorial Commission</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 2406 of the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/116/9">Public Law 116–9</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HD2A17C5178DF48E48AED74B2A22D5E31"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (l), by striking <quote>2025</quote> and inserting <quote>2032</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H0EDCA5A2F8234B1CBCB211342EDB27A7"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H2D778F7C5A4342968D5302E05AD7C203" display-inline="no-display-inline"><subsection id="H03A02870257740DA9E3E7F70CACE4EBE"><enum>(n)</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text>Notwithstanding other provision of law, there are authorized to be appropriated $50,000,000 to carry out the purposes of this section, subject to the following limitations:</text><paragraph id="HF933CCF9628F43748B38920A1FF93E35"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Non-federal match requirement</header><text>Any Federal funds made available under this section shall be matched on a 1-to-1 basis by non-Federal contributions.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H8915465B03A84F7CB847E86FF983789C"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Limitation on administrative costs</header><text>Not more than 4 percent of Federal funds made available under this section may be used for administrative expenses.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H5D71B4338CB2467BBB26A99020486BEC"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Compliance with Standards for Commemorative Works</header><text>Section 1(c) of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/107/62">Public Law 107–62</external-xref> (115 Stat. 411; 124 Stat. 1192; 127 Stat. 3880; 133 Stat. 750) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HAB1E8BA00B7244269622C5BECA0B1398"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>The establishment</quote> and inserting <quote>Notwithstanding section 8908(c) of title 40, United States Code, the establishment</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H9415F5823A3C48EBA8CBC6C98239F212"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>2025</quote> and inserting <quote>2032</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H7C61E22B748F437DBA594FC909A9884D"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Location of commemorative work</header><text>Section 2 of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/107/315">Public Law 107–315</external-xref> (116 Stat. 2763) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H501B117DBE25410EA0504BD740652BE3"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>The commemorative</quote> and inserting <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC"><enum-in-header>(a) </enum-in-header></header-in-text>Except as provided in subsection (b), the commemorative</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H4B76FA78760848BCAFB8ECBC3C90DB8E"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H8F61DAF302CF4D5CB6E09925F6B193EE" display-inline="no-display-inline"><subsection id="H526A17D7169E42368423789C0430501A"><enum>(b)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The commemorative work may be located within the area generally depicted as <quote>Adams Memorial: Eligible Additional Area</quote> on the map titled <quote>Adams Memorial: Eligible Additional Area</quote> prepared by the Adams Memorial Commission and dated February 25, 2025. </text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
