<section id="H3CB753953E6D4E0E972846211BB53605" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>No Bailouts for Reparations Act</short-title></quote> .</text></section> <section id="H8904F40CA13D4C5D8D5B73589E2E2743"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on bailouts for State and local governments carrying out reparations programs</header> <subsection id="H576DCED40067468D9CC1DC5BDF30621B"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The United States Government, including the Federal Reserve System and independent agencies, may not provide any loan, grant, or other form of financial assistance to the government of any State or political subdivision thereof, or any agency or instrumentality of such a State or political subdivision, that enacts into law any program providing reparations on the basis of—</text> 
<paragraph id="H3E5BC94B40684E4195902B9E94757CF1"><enum>(1)</enum><text>slavery; or</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H5E3CE2FB9DE84CF49D1BF0F4934B87A5"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">race, ethnicity, national origin, or historical practices related thereto.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="HD7BFE77A0D924EE8B14590E65CE6715B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Application</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subsection (a) shall only apply to the unit of government so enacting a reparations program.</text></subsection> <subsection id="H38D894E689734059A4E6482FE921210E"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Definition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For purposes of this section, the term <quote>State</quote> means any State of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands, or any other territory or possession of the United States. </text></subsection></section>
