<section id="H45A7B84630EE414990A902B3E284AC29" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>National Amusement Park Ride Safety Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HA10285645C614B5EA29FAA13EF18B727"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amusement rides permanently fixed to a site</header> <subsection id="H80B66BBD44604DA2BF422EBA664C5421"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 3(a)(5) of the Consumer Product Safety Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/2052">15 U.S.C. 2052(a)(5)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>, and which is not permanently fixed to a site. Such term does not include such a device which is permanently fixed to a site.</quote> and inserting a period.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H48D2792823264597A42298AC84C5A854"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header>
<paragraph id="HDE52590A21D04DCC852738A9F1AD18C7"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>In addition to amounts otherwise authorized to be appropriated to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there is authorized to be appropriated to the Commission each fiscal year for activities relating to covered devices $11,500,000, of which—</text> <subparagraph id="HD00FB93384F04ADDB642D68234AA4294"><enum>(A)</enum><text>$5,000,000 each fiscal year is authorized to be appropriated exclusively for activities relating to covered devices not permanently fixed to a site; and</text></subparagraph>
<subparagraph id="HFE99699DF53F4D4DABAA4C05B3BD1176"><enum>(B)</enum><text>$6,500,000 each fiscal year is authorized to be appropriated exclusively for activities relating to covered devices permanently fixed to a site.</text></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="H2B3789BA2187486F9DEFD2151BB37377"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Covered device defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this subsection, the term <term>covered device</term> means a mechanical device which carries or conveys passengers along, around, or over a fixed or restricted route or course or within a defined area for the purpose of giving its passengers amusement, which is customarily controlled or directed by an individual who is employed for that purpose and who is not a consumer with respect to such device.</text></paragraph></subsection></section>
