<section id="HAFAC4F745EC449B9B3FF26FBD09BB7B7" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Law Enforcement Officer and Firefighter Recreation Pass Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section> <section id="H5F141983FF44470F9068CD26925CEFEB" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">National recreational passes for law enforcement officers and Firefighters</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 805(b) of the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/6804">16 U.S.C. 6804(b)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
<paragraph id="H54632CCD316640D28DAFA2715D50A5F1"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by amending paragraph (3) to read as follows: </text> <quoted-block style="OLC" id="H9C1CF868CF1A4613A0F32010342044EF" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <paragraph id="H4FA8595D86A648CCB7D7C2B189F065AE"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Annual passes</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall make the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass available, at no cost, to—</text>
<subparagraph id="HA3D7D54833394724B0BB178528B6C0A6"><enum>(A)</enum><text>a member of the Armed Forces and their dependents; or </text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H102926C74FF54042B98929F0E0D36ED0"><enum>(B)</enum><text>a law enforcement officer or firefighter, </text></subparagraph><continuation-text continuation-text-level="paragraph">who provide adequate proof of eligibility for such pass as determined by the Secretary.</continuation-text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H45D89CECFA1F476E9A11F89A835DB540"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H1EA2F47A75644D449E475DB128F50BD5"> <paragraph id="H7BE3C7FFD969460C86B86F21C332F30A" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(4)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Definitions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this subsection:</text>
<subparagraph id="H773CBC375CFD4912BAEDE4C4A886A622" commented="no"><enum>(A)</enum><header>Firefighter</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <quote>firefighter</quote> means any employee of the Federal Government, a State, a unit of local government, or an Indian Tribe who performs work directly related to suppressing fires, including wildland fires.</text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="HB50F05AE8B6C422A86C140E1D21969DE"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Law enforcement officer</header><text>The term <term>law enforcement officer</term> means any officer, agent, or employee of the Federal Government, a State, a unit of local government, or an Indian Tribe authorized by law or by a government agency to engage in or supervise the prevention, detection, or investigation of any violation of criminal law or who is authorized by law to supervise sentenced criminal offenders.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section>
