R. 1779</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250303">March 3, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="C001103">Mr. Carter of Georgia</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HPW00">Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To direct the Administrator of General Services to sell the property known as the Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H280A03A82BFB42D0A1FF4D4F9D9FE46B" style="OLC"><section id="H9EACC6650067441CA2285EFEE8D3C2A7" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Stop Wasteful Allocations of Money for Pelosi Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>SWAMP Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HE99101EC799043CDA5A2A7F1387B68E4" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Sale of Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building</header><subsection id="H4560A0ED62C841EC9A7C1B934E031074"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Sale</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than May 31, 2025, the Administrator of General Services shall—</text><paragraph id="H4E0259F0352D4AE6B782E9EDA1DD34CF"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">dispose of the property described in subsection (b) pursuant to subchapter III of <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/40/5">chapter 5</external-xref> of title 40, United States Code; or</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H142CBF3CD2FD45ED9C1E29C565C4E277"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">if a disposal pursuant to paragraph (1) is not feasible, in the determination of the Administrator, sell the property described in that subsection at fair market value and for the highest and best use.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HFEDCAE581EB749E4A0167CFBEAA212D8"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Property described</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The property referred to in subsection (a) is the property generally consisting of 90 7th St, San Francisco, California 94103, including the building known as the Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building, subject to a survey, as determined appropriate by the Administrator.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
