Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to prohibit the President from considering insurance as a duplication of benefits for certain assistance under such Act.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H3FB9D5F5DC1B4A41A26533FDE0055FAF" style="OLC"> 
<section id="HD5B4A1C6DC924ED49E09BA8779CFBA08" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Disaster Displacement Assistance Improvement Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H83D817F215984447BFAA84A09611B9FF" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Duplication of benefits clarification</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 408 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5174">42 U.S.C. 5174</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following: </text>

<subsection id="H83BEF293A79249209333B01CF616EB95"><enum>(k)</enum><header>Duplication of benefits</header> 
<paragraph id="H547C9A1E78604530A72A95C54A8D9194"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In determining eligibility for displacement assistance under this section, the President may not consider insurance a duplication of benefits for the purpose of applying section 312 of this Act.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H594E10226E2640AF846108EB478C66C1"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Displacement assistance defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section, the term <quote>displacement assistance</quote> means assistance provided under this section to stay in a hotel or motel, stay with family and friends, or for any other available housing options. </text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </section>
