R. 1362</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20250214">February 14, 2025</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="G000565">Mr. Gosar</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="A000369">Mr. Amodei of Nevada</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="H001098">Mr. Hamadeh of Arizona</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="K000403">Mr. Kennedy of Utah</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000590">Ms. Lee of Nevada</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001228">Ms. Maloy</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001213">Mr. Moore of Utah</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="O000086">Mr. Owens</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="T000468">Ms. Titus</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act to include certain communities, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HE3B1A980CF1C4D84A64AB63BA3F898E3" style="OLC"><section section-type="section-one" id="HE7BCB31ED72240F99E5DD154172C2269"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Downwinders Parity Act of 2025</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H9DF3CB7CC1864F19BCB9647E170EBAA9"><enum>2.</enum><header>Inclusion under the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 4(b)(1) of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/2210">42 U.S.C. 2210</external-xref> note; <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/101/426">Public Law 101–426</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HD859A05547EC4853A17D341BABD76167"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B)—</text><subparagraph id="HBD9A1796D94749BB915F68C1E719D8EE"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>that portion of</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H3C4E23BC41974359A6027A3BC520831E"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking <quote>that consists of townships 13 through 16 at ranges 63 through 71</quote>; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H18D54FC2D4694280ACAA646FA145065A"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph (C), by inserting <quote>all acreage in any county all or part of which is located in</quote> before <quote>that part</quote>.</text></paragraph></section><section id="H0BF6AB1D22714676BC60A256787B3107"><enum>3.</enum><header>Trust fund extension</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 3(d) of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/2210">42 U.S.C. 2210</external-xref> note; <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/101/426">Public Law 101–426</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H267958FE6F4849F088C50F4FA42D4990"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>on the date that is 2 years after the date of enactment of the RECA Extension Act of 2022</quote> and inserting <quote>on December 31, 2030</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H637013DAC6874B77BB109271DF2FA83D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>the end of that 2-year period</quote> and inserting <quote>such date</quote>. </text></paragraph></section><section id="HACA4E1A8F8004029B5C6CA799D97764C"><enum>4.</enum><header>Report</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Attorney General shall submit to the relevant committees of the Senate and the House of Representatives a report that outlines efforts to educate and conduct outreach to persons made newly eligible for benefits under the amendments made by section 2.</text></section></legis-body></bill>
