<section id="H2E68CC5C9A5D4AB1B6B2322CDDD2C604" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protecting the Second Amendment in Financial Services Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HD3045D0D2D7243AF837D84C4D4F4DA09"><enum>2.</enum><header>Merchant category code limitations with respect to firearm merchants</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 127 of the Truth in Lending Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/1637">15 U.S.C. 1637</external-xref>) is amended by inserting after subsection (p) the following:</text>

<subsection id="H74B0DC5F5A514C5BB07AD6D9401B96F6"><enum>(q)</enum><header>Merchant category code limitations with respect to firearm merchants</header> 
<paragraph id="HD7CA03110B0F4133A3212A8C5665849D"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>A covered entity may not use a merchant category code that separately identifies firearms merchants or ammunition merchants.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H609FEDFC9C66459A9779B5798177C341"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Covered entity defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For the purposes of this subsection, the term <term>covered entity</term> means any entity—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H55C8B9DA20E54D928C4F599B658111A3"><enum>(A)</enum><text>involved in facilitating or processing a credit card transaction, including a bank, an acquirer, payment card network, or payment card issuer; or </text></subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H7FCBEF2F636540BCB65512B45380E14F"><enum>(B)</enum><text>otherwise participates in the authorizing, clearing, or settling of a credit card transaction.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
