<section id="H431F902BD29F42E2A9A03841084DEE9E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Job Protection Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HC76DE0027341485785978978CED9B180"><enum>2.</enum><header>Expansion of employees eligible for family and medical leave</header> <subsection id="H0DBAC6ABD4444F48BDCC46AE7EFD53FF"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Section 101(2) of the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/2611">29 U.S.C. 2611(2)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
<paragraph id="H98E6288FE386415C8D093D81EACFAB68"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A), by striking <quote>employed—</quote> and all that follows through the end of the subparagraph and inserting <quote>employed for at least 90 days by the employer with respect to whom leave is requested under section 102.</quote>;</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HBCDFF67C4622486E9F36D1E2B5EF2E34"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B), by striking <quote>does not include—</quote> and all that follows through the end of the subparagraph and inserting <quote>does not include any Federal officer or employee covered under subchapter V of <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/5/63">chapter 63</external-xref> of title 5, United States Code (as added by title II of this Act).</quote>;</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HD579EE8B2266448191B66BDA8D55C354"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by striking subparagraphs (C) and (D); and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HCBA44DD5B7424277A4813B7F5280C78B"><enum>(4)</enum><text>by redesignating subparagraph (E) as subparagraph (C).</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H43AE146DA77A4F5B9A4DFDD3B741278F"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Federal employees</header>
<paragraph id="H6B07BDC75B4148F1BF1F9A12818092DE"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Title 5, United States Code, is amended—</text> <subparagraph id="H100A6F7979294519A7B18C1B7C25C285"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in section 6381(1)(B), by striking <quote>12 months</quote> and inserting <quote>90 days</quote>; and</text></subparagraph>
<subparagraph id="HBC2C79AC207E49C79059CD59AFC2C3A4"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in section 6382(d)(2)(E), by striking <quote>12 months</quote> and inserting <quote>90 days</quote>.</text></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="HE4F2B97C30C5438DB80A88F6EA6F3FA4"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Presidential employees</header><text>Section 412(a)(2)(B) of title 3, United States Code, is amended by striking <quote>12 months and for at least 1,250 hours of employment during the previous 12 months</quote> and inserting <quote>90 days</quote>. </text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H47E46A9EFD1941A5B4377950818C0539"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Congressional employees</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 202(a)(2)(B) of the Congressional Accountability Act of 1995 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/1312">2 U.S.C. 1312(a)(2)(B)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>12 months and for at least 1,250 hours of employment during the previous 12 months</quote> and inserting <quote>90 days</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection></section> <section id="HC5402AD197354D359114919E31E566AC"><enum>3.</enum><header>Expansion of employers subject to leave requirements</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 101(4)(A)(i) of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/2611">29 U.S.C. 2611(4)(A)(i)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>50 or more employees</quote> and all that follows through the end of the clause and inserting <quote>1 or more employees;</quote>.</text></section>
