RES. 30</legis-num><current-chamber display="yes">IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20250514">May 14, 2025</action-date><action-desc> Received; referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><action></action><legis-type>CONCURRENT RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Expressing support for local law enforcement officers.</official-title></form><preamble><whereas><text>Whereas the brave men and women in local law enforcement work tirelessly to protect the communities they serve;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas local law enforcement officers are tasked with upholding the rule of law and ensuring public safety;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas local law enforcement officers selflessly put themselves in harm’s way to fight crime, get drugs off the streets, and protect the innocent;</text><pagebreak></pagebreak></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas local law enforcement officers take an oath to never betray the public trust;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the local law enforcement community protects our streets, acknowledges the rights of all Americans, and keeps citizens safe from harm;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas local law enforcement officers are recognized for their public service to all, knowing they face extremely dangerous situations while carrying out their duties;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas a healthy and collaborative relationship between local law enforcement officers and the communities they serve is essential to creating mutually respectful dialogue; and</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas local law enforcement officers and their families deserve respect, appreciation, and support for their sacrifices and commitment to public service: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble><resolution-body style="traditional" id="H33EA00921CB645EDA4B98F91F725EAEA"><section display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section" id="H17119EBD3E2B43A0A111037A10455D68"><enum/><text>That Congress—</text><paragraph id="H705ADBF853614204AFB73D2815A0E4E8"><enum>(1)</enum><text>recognizes and appreciates the dedication and devotion demonstrated by the men and women of local law enforcement who keep the Nation’s communities safe;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H7E60BFE24E714870B89D71159B49EBC9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>extends its gratitude to all local law enforcement officers and their families for their sacrifice and service;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H27AF90B7B8AA499DAC91E16B7375F590"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">honors the memory of those local law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty; and </text></paragraph><paragraph id="H5807975FDE714101B4E05582F56D0045"><enum>(4)</enum><text>encourages continued collaboration between local law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve to strengthen public safety and trust. </text></paragraph></section></resolution-body><attestation><attestation-group><attestation-date date="20250513" chamber="House">Passed the House of Representatives May 13, 2025.</attestation-date><attestor display="yes">Kevin F.
