<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 4392</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20240522">May 22, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S317">Mr. Barrasso</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S365">Mr. Scott of South Carolina</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S374">Mr. Cotton</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S410">Ms. Lummis</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S411">Mr. Marshall</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S378">Mr. Lankford</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S323">Mr. Risch</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S376">Ms. Ernst</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSFI00">Committee on Finance</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To establish the Southern Border Wall Construction Fund and to transfer unobligated amounts from the Coronavirus State and local fiscal recovery funds to such Fund to construct and maintain physical barriers along the southern border.</official-title></form><legis-body><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idf7deb9d1b84b46d6afa449e11370a7a3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Build the Wall Act of 2024</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id61c35792eed341b59d96a7c370215b6a"><enum>2.</enum><header>Southern Border Wall Construction Fund</header><subsection id="id4112f40fec7d4e1493db5a3f06ca7440"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Establishment</header><text>There is established in the general fund of the Treasury a separate account, which shall be known as the <quote>Southern Border Wall Construction Fund</quote> (referred to in this section as the <quote>Fund</quote>).</text></subsection><subsection id="id24e7b6cc19f3437ea1348dfdc31177a7"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Deposits</header><text>Notwithstanding any other provision of law, there shall be immediately deposited into the Fund all of the unobligated amounts in the Coronavirus State and local fiscal recovery funds established under sections 602 and 603 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 802 and 803).</text></subsection><subsection id="idd5252e74e24e45c19dad304e11c94dbd"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Use of funds</header><text>Amounts in the Fund shall be used by the Secretary of Homeland Security to construct and maintain physical barriers along the southern international border of the United States.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
