RES. 1579</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20241118">November 18, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="M000194">Ms. Mace</sponsor> submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HHA00">Committee on House Administration</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Prohibiting Members, officers, and employees of the House from using single-sex facilities other than those corresponding to their biological sex, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><preamble><whereas><text>Whereas allowing biological males into single-sex facilities, such as restrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms designed for women, jeopardizes the safety and dignity of Members, officers, and employees of the House who are female: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble><resolution-body style="OLC" id="HB6B58E3840154AB4AFC7C1D4B3F8E4A4"><section display-inline="no-display-inline" section-type="section-one" id="HFF1E261B4D7E482B8A09376274298A33"><enum>1.</enum><header>Prohibition on the use of single-sex facilities other than those corresponding to the biological sex of an individual</header><subsection id="H9FA242678BAC4150BA1CFB88DAD34DC7"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A Member, Delegate, Resident Commissioner, officer, or employee of the House may not use a single-sex facility (including a restroom, changing room, or locker room) in the Capitol or House Office Buildings, other than those corresponding to the biological sex of such individual.</text></subsection><subsection id="HE4F68DA50DA14BC2B23EA3FBEB820204"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Enforcement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Representatives is charged with the enforcement of the prohibition under subsection (a).</text></subsection></section></resolution-body></resolution>
