Whereas, on September 15, 2024, an attempt was made on the life of former President Donald J. Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida;Whereas such heinous acts of political violence threaten and undermine the core values and stability of democracy and the peaceful discourse upon which the United States was founded;Whereas former President Donald J. Trump served as the 45th President of the United States and continues to be a leading figure in American political life;Whereas deputies and officers from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office responded rapidly to the threat and demonstrated exceptional bravery, professionalism, and heroism; andWhereas the swift actions of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office led to the successful apprehension of the would-be assassin, preventing further harm: Now, therefore, be it

That the House of Representatives—(1)condemns the assassination attempt on former President Donald J. Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on September 15, 2024;(2)honors Martin County Deputy Gedeon Brenovil for his bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;(3)honors Martin County Deputy Nicholas C. Shaw for his bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;(4)honors Martin County Detective Dominic M. Ferrusi for his bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;(5)honors Martin County Detective Aaron Chandler for his bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;(6)honors Martin County Sergeant Crystal Nash for her bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;(7)honors Martin County Sergeant Brad Spencer for his bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;(8)honors Martin County Sergeant Samuel B.
