R. 8081, the DISGRACED Former Protectees Act, targeting President Donald J. Trump by attempting to remove his United States Secret Service protection, which is granted to all former presidents;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Representatives Troy Carter, Barbara Lee, Frederica Wilson, Yvette Clarke, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Jasmine Crockett, Joyce Beatty, and Steve Cohen are cosponsors of the bill;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas a staffer of Representative Bennie Thompson said after the first assassination attempt on President Trump, <quote>I don’t condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time . . . oops that wasn’t me talking.</quote>;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Representative Jasmine Crockett lashed out in a recent interview, just hours before the second assassination attempt on President Trump, saying, <quote>MAGA in general—they are threats to us domestically.</quote>;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Representative Steve Cohen said, <quote>Trump is an enemy of the United States.</quote>; and</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Representative Joyce Beatty said President Trump <quote>stepped on our democracy. He defied the Constitution.</quote>: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble><resolution-body style="OLC" id="HBFA819BAA5464BD6AFDB0F118B20B45D"><section id="H71CA3C19E4FC4FC098D3E4949E89DF2D" display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section"><text>That—</text><paragraph id="H8B35C66B065B45AAB4AAEC788C9967F8"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the House of Representatives censures Representatives Bennie Thompson, Troy Carter, Barbara Lee, Frederica Wilson, Yvette Clark, Bonnie Coleman, Jasmine Crockett, Joyce Beatty, and Steve Cohen, for inciting violence, including two assassination attempts, against President Donald Trump;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H92836CCE9B38416F9CBA9AF0AB238B71"><enum>(2)</enum><text>these Representatives will forthwith present themselves in the well of the House of Representatives for the pronouncement of censure; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HCF242B170F7A4ADB89D964E32CE1AD3D"><enum>(3)</enum><text>these Representatives will be censured with the public reading of this resolution by the Speaker.</text></paragraph></section></resolution-body></resolution>
