RES. 1300</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20240613">June 13, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="P000609">Mr. Palmer</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="O000086">Mr. Owens</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="E000246">Mr. Edwards</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000564">Mr. Lamborn</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="O000175">Mr. Ogles</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S000250">Mr. Sessions</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001307">Mr. Baird</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="H001077">Mr. Higgins of Louisiana</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="Y000067">Mr. Yakym</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000591">Mr. Guest</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000589">Mrs. Lesko</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="F000459">Mr. Fleischmann</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="T000478">Ms. Tenney</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="R000603">Mr. Rouzer</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001204">Mr. Meuser</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="D000032">Mr. Donalds</cosponsor>) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HED00">Committee on Education and the Workforce</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Condemning campus protest backers.</official-title></form><preamble><whereas><text>Whereas violent protesters have taken over dozens of spaces on college campuses across the country, impacting the education of thousands of tuition-paying students;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas these protesters have called for <quote>Death to America</quote> and <quote>Death to Israel</quote>, a United States ally;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas these protesters have threatened and targeted other students with racist and antisemitic rhetoric and blocked students from attending their classes;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas protesters have torn down and desecrated flags of the United States and replaced them with Palestinian flags;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Hamas, a radically violent terrorist organization responsible for countless murders and rapes, runs the Palestinian Government;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas terrorist groups in Iran have praised and shown solidarity with these protesters;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas protesters at George Washington University defaced and desecrated a statue of its namesake, the first President of the United States, and a former professor of the school sympathetic to the protesters accosted a Member of this body with racist language;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas protesters at Columbia University took over and occupied a campus building, requiring the New York Police Department to restore order;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas, at Columbia University and the University of Southern California, protester behavior forced the cancellation of commencement ceremonies for graduating students;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas these protests have been funded and organized by leftist groups like Students for Justice in Palestine, IfNotNow, and Within Our Lifetime, all of which received funding from George Soros;</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Students for Justice in Palestine called the deadly attacks on Israeli civilians on October 7, 2023, a <quote>historic win</quote>; and</text></whereas><whereas><text>Whereas David Rockefeller, Jr., and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund gave to Jewish Voice for Peace, which blames the October 7 attacks on Israel and the United States rather than Hamas: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble><resolution-body style="traditional" id="HD6E3C84A5F77456FAE572C02C9175755"><section id="HF13AFBD588034F888F21F36AFBE7DE53" section-type="undesignated-section" display-inline="yes-display-inline"><enum/><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That the House of Representatives—</text><paragraph id="H57C9233B68124258AA32B4CD02BFB4D7"><enum>(1)</enum><text>condemns the anarchy and insurrection taking place on college campuses as well as the groups organizing it;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HFFB1EDCEC8024316AC4FE8A598972D82"><enum>(2)</enum><text>condemns George Soros and all those who are funding the groups behind these protests;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HDDBD362960634658BCCFEE06B5E573F9"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">calls on all politicians and political parties of all ideologies to refuse to accept any contributions for any purpose from organizations and entities funding anti-American and antisemitic demonstrations; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H8E72F1FB14E544CE8FE3BCB20383D34F"><enum>(4)</enum><text>calls for a full investigation of all foreign adversaries engaged in promoting and provoking campus and public unrest.</text></paragraph></section></resolution-body></resolution>
