which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HAS00">Committee on Armed Services</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To direct the Secretary of Defense to increase the maximum amount of contraceptive supplies provided to a beneficiary through the TRICARE Program.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HD128A323A174457D857B1AADCC7FB848" style="OLC"><section id="HF664EC51CDCF45B9A3B1A0DD334E2002" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Improved Contraception Access for Servicemembers Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H9E1259700FCF48ECA3C5AE4CC9597C22" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>TRICARE coverage for increased supply for contraception</header><subsection id="H106D6742356D41458777E38F98244E77"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Beginning not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of the Act, contraceptive supplies of up to 365 days shall be covered for any eligible covered beneficiary to obtain, including in a single fill or refill, at the option of such beneficiary, the total days of supply (not to exceed a 365-day supply) for a contraceptive on the uniform formulary provided through a military treatment facility pharmacy, retail pharmacy described in section 1074g(a)(2)(E)(ii) of such title, or through the national mail-order pharmacy program of the TRICARE Program.</text></subsection><subsection id="H81ACE643B7A34E8E97B9F21BCD570CD8"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Outreach</header><text>Beginning not later than 90 days after the implementation of coverage under subsection (a), the Secretary shall conduct such outreach activities as are necessary to inform health care providers and individuals who are enrolled in the TRICARE program of such coverage and the requirements to receive such coverage.</text></subsection><subsection id="H5431DBDDA00A4525B24F1301ADF13606"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section:</text><paragraph id="HA459664B53054A2B9EFC5ABEB33C600B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>The term <quote>eligible covered beneficiary</quote> means an eligible covered beneficiary as such term is used in section 1074g of title 10, United States Code, who is—</text><subparagraph id="H457B27F24B5E462E939FB5FB327B9EF8"><enum>(A)</enum><text>a member of an Armed Force serving on active duty; or</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H675290096404429488E4C7EA5B64F906"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">a dependent of a member described in subparagraph (A).</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HE5AB63D68E2847EE9C4F0C4D910D77E9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The terms <quote>TRICARE Program</quote> and <quote>TRICARE Prime</quote> have the meaning given such terms in section 1072 of title 10, United States Code.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
