<section id="H6B4232DE97F4409A8A6EB0B3E2127AD0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Producing Advanced Technologies for Homeland Security Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>PATHS Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H32C3016428784130AFC054A4399F7580" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Research and development acquisition pilot program extension</header> <subsection id="HA79AF5737FEB40E4A802DA3F58D1278C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 831 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/6/391">6 U.S.C. 391</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H41438AE76C9A4EFA8064C0663BE90B2D" commented="no"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a)—</text> <subparagraph id="H5AF5AC4234C14D0992FEB7FB6466BA0A"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking <quote>Until September 30, 2024, and subject to subsection (d)</quote> and inserting <quote>Until September 30, 2027, and subject to subsection (c)</quote>; and </text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H967C56311AC544EBB1F1A8AD1DD2A56B"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H10BCF088AA0F4F26B52BE1911F2343E7"> <paragraph id="H5CA0CB34D1584C89818ECCEE0C9661F1"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Other transaction authority involving artificial intelligence</header><text>Not later than 72 hours after the use or extension of the transaction authority authorized under paragraph (1) involving artificial intelligence technology, the Secretary shall notify the <committee-name committee-id="HAP00">Committee on Appropriations</committee-name> and the <committee-name committee-id="HHM00">Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate </committee-name>and the <committee-name committee-id="HAP00">Committee on Appropriations</committee-name> and the <committee-name committee-id="HHM00">Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives</committee-name> and offer a briefing explaining the reason for the use or extension.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HD82032058E6C41B5BD849DB77948C105"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (c)(1), in the matter preceding subparagraph (A), by striking <quote>September 30, 2024</quote> and inserting <quote>September 30, 2027</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="HCC2205070EE3423BAC31BFCE70713D60"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Reduction in amount of covered contract award</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subparagraph (A) of section 7113(d)(1) of the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/6/112">6 U.S.C. 112</external-xref> note; <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/117/263">Public Law 117–263</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>$4,000,000</quote> and inserting <quote>$1,000,000</quote>. </text></subsection></section>
