R. 9292</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20240802">August 2, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S001208">Ms. Slotkin</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HAS00">Committee on Armed Services</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To direct the Secretary of the Army to provide a briefing to Congress on the future role and structure of Multi-Domain Task Forces, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HCBA674233DF446F083B0A97B84861FD9" style="OLC"><section id="H7FD1DAF9A6B545C29C55C9E986AD1A81" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Briefing on the future role and structure of Multi-Domain Task Forces</header><subsection id="HAD0DF2B2539B4219979D80FB485A4A44"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than December 31, 2024, the Secretary of the Army shall provide to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a briefing on the plans of the Army with respect to the future role and structure of Multi-Domain Task Forces.</text></subsection><subsection id="H44473429CAFE4E1D9E8F786D9BD65FD1"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Elements</header><text>The briefing under subsection (a) shall address—</text><paragraph id="HF86774A26EA145589AB549209B068351"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the benefits of any experimentation conducted with respect to Multi-Domain Task Forces, including any resulting lessons learned that have the potential to be adopted within other organizations of the Army;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HEE7A46B1D6674264A7C3AD96FB10BA52"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">operational concepts for using Multi-Domain Task Forces in wartime or other crisis scenarios;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H247B8942F78B4740BA90C2219474EE00"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">any plans or requirements relating to the use of joint storage facilities for the sustainment of Multi-Domain Task Forces;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HE4227F8015CB4A1FB9E60189F9E16D94"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">an outline of any plans or operational concepts providing for the use the reserve components (including the National Guard) to support Multi-Domain Task Force operations; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HD37754BCBE534AC6888B6017BED5311C"><enum>(5)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">with respect to each Multi-Domain Task Force that is not operational as of the date of the briefing—</text><subparagraph id="H894FE99287D7488696616CC702FC475C"><enum>(A)</enum><text>a timeline for operationalizing the Task Force; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H9CEB601911724ED38D145AC709BEC7A6"><enum>(B)</enum><text>an assessment of any impediments that may prevent the Task Force from achieving full operational capability before 2027.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
