R. 8950</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20240708">July 8, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="V000134">Ms. Van Duyne</sponsor> (for herself, <cosponsor name-id="H001096">Ms. Hageman</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="V000135">Mr. Van Orden</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HSM00">Committee on Small Business</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Small Business Act to require penalties for small business concerns falsely claiming goods or services are Made in America, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H9938E56913A54C0596E6D7B261928AC6" style="OLC"><section id="H0236A8E5F9344EF39D1ECBAB3A7769E7" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Made in America Integrity Act of 2024</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H6609CEE467934A4394093AE966828405" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Penalties for small business concerns falsely claiming goods or services are Made in America</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 16 of the Small Business Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/645">15 U.S.C. 645</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="H8923D8CC527B431EA92A4C3C7F6499B1" display-inline="no-display-inline"><subsection id="H0D7AAC4FE0C4417099A9CDDF78EC8279"><enum>(h)</enum><header>False claims of Made in America</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In addition to any other applicable penalties, a small business concern that is awarded a Federal contract in part or in whole because the concern falsely claims the goods or services that are the subject of the contract are made or produced in the United States shall be subject to the penalties and remedies described in subsection (d)(2), except that subparagraph (D) of such subsection shall be applied to such concern by substituting <quote>5 years</quote> for <quote>3 years</quote>. </text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
