<section id="H404971DF3C29474084A0A4BE3981E0BF" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Lobbying Disclosure Modernization Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section> <section id="H6F4C5AC5F6F0483DB12A1C9B0F473389"><enum>2.</enum><header>Updates to the lobbying disclosure system</header> <subsection id="HE6E2D9DA5F7A420799BC57FC1E6D893F"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Website</header> <paragraph id="HBCF212004FD445EF9A7471DB900FFC79"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Filing</header><text>The second sentence of section 5(e) of the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/1604">2 U.S.C. 1604(e)</external-xref>) is amended to read as follows: <quote>The Secretary of the Senate and the Clerk of the House of Representatives shall jointly use one publicly available website for receipt and recording of filings under this Act.</quote>.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HE60A4F35F27C4932821300B66E7DF978"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Storage</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 6(a)(9) of the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/1605">2 U.S.C. 1605(a)(9)</external-xref>) by striking <quote>over the Internet,</quote> and inserting <quote>over the Internet on a website jointly maintained by the Secretary of the Senate and the Clerk of the House of Representatives,</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection> <subsection id="H8A84D503369B4283952DF41FD743C969"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Unique identifier</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 6(a)(3) of the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/1605">2 U.S.C. 1605(a)(3)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H0CE575920E2C4E2897909E92367F5FC2"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end of subparagraph (A);</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HDF48E26BBF5B47269132371F78B1270E"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding <quote>and</quote> after the semicolon the end of subparagraph (B); and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HF54D1CB17B874D9383A7ED120ED83C8A"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding after subparagraph (B) the following:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" id="HC2F3D45F05C349A4894103B18B0EBF0D" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <subparagraph id="HB0E8F3730B4F4CB0979631CB39012BB3"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">a system that assigns a unique identification number for each lobbyist for whom a registration or report is filed under this Act and discloses such identifier to the public as structured data as part of the lobbying disclosure downloads;</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H37A1A8DE17FC49A39EEADC18528529E1"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Deadline</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of the Senate and the Clerk of the House of Representatives shall have one year from the date of enactment of this Act to fulfill the requirements of the amendments made under this section.</text> </subsection></section> </legis-body> </bill>
