R. 8551</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20240523">May 23, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="O000175">Mr. Ogles</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="D000032">Mr. Donalds</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="P000605">Mr. Perry</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001212">Mr. Moore of Alabama</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="T000165">Mr. Tiffany</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000599">Mr. Lawler</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001311">Mr. Bishop of North Carolina</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="V000134">Ms. Van Duyne</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000578">Mr. LaMalfa</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="W000795">Mr. Wilson of South Carolina</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001316">Mr. Burlison</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="M001218">Mr. McCormick</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HIG00">Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To require the Director of National Intelligence to prepare and make available a report on the wealth and corrupt activities of the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HFE2733D023B540ED91EB18CB1FBF83DF" style="OLC"><section id="H117C2507E0AA4EE98BD9B51EDF099191" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Confronting CCP Malign Influence Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H2225FB08F88B4D6EB19C512FA765E47C"><enum>2.</enum><header>Report on wealth and corrupt activities of the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party</header><subsection id="H1EA1AC8BAA204D818EEEE29D5A77D993"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence, in consultation with the Secretary of State, shall prepare and make available to the public an unclassified report on the wealth and corrupt activities of the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, including the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party and senior leadership officials in the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Politburo Standing Committee, and any other regional Party Secretaries.</text></subsection><subsection id="H54E093ABD696465CBB58600313E862E6"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Hearing requirement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence, or the Director’s designee, shall appear before the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives and the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate to present testimony in an open hearing regarding the findings of the report required under <internal-xref idref="H1EA1AC8BAA204D818EEEE29D5A77D993" legis-path="2.(a)">subsection (a)</internal-xref>.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
