<section id="H074B661866B3431D8897899AB04E1336" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Hannah Cvancara Service Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="HBE5B7300185F49409C46EEC3A50FDF09"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on exclusion of individuals from assignment as medical personnel of Armed Forces on basis of amputation</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/10/49">Chapter 49</external-xref> of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new section (and conforming the table of sections at the beginning of such chapter accordingly):</text>

<section id="H492B743D36DD4EDCA59CC183DB5E165C"><enum>989.</enum><header>Prohibition on exclusion of individuals from assignment as medical personnel on basis of amputation</header> 
<subsection id="H56738BDE8CDD477AA4CE2F67897F5457"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Neither the Secretary of Defense nor the Secretary concerned may prohibit the assignment of an individual to a medical personnel position, including by prohibiting the accession of such individual into the Armed Forces for such assignment, on the basis that the individual has an amputated limb (regardless of whether such amputated limb is the result of a service-connected illness or injury) if the individual otherwise meets such physical fitness and other standards as may be required for such accession.</text></subsection> <subsection id="H46FE72EE32A049AE97EDBBEF47B88539"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section:</text> 
<paragraph id="HBA62007985CF43D6BFA9C4381EFADDE0"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>medical personnel</term> has the meaning given that term in section 115a(e) of this title.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H2AA7F65ED9394E2ABA716C7AE3B87ACB"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>service-connected</term> has the meaning given such term in section 101 of title 38.</text></paragraph></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
