R. 7290</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20240207">February 7, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="M001216">Mr. Mills</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="M001218">Mr. McCormick</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="D000032">Mr. Donalds</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To prohibit corruption in the office of any State or local chief prosecutor.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H8B64BC921149451FADD8E79E5AC4819E" style="OLC"><section id="HE3C86367C1AD471F9422A98FBF66ED97" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Against Federal Funds for Allowing Inappropriate Relationships Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>AFFAIR Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H71AD2A254A8249F0A303BEF93B8F4480"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">No Federal funds may be awarded to the office of any State or local chief prosecutor if any individual in such office has been convicted for engaging corruption or any other unlawful activity.</text></section></legis-body></bill>
