<section id="H5F1DDC8F628648F6A3A709EEC7DC415C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>End Tax Breaks for Dark Money Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section section-type="subsequent-section" id="H7163EA9317364DC18A091EA53289421C"><enum>2.</enum><header>Treatment of transfers of appreciated property to certain tax-exempt organizations</header> <subsection id="H5C44A35EA69948FDBDDF7C12854526D2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subsections (a) and (b) of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/84">section 84</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 are each amended by striking <quote>political organization</quote> each place it appears and inserting <quote>specified organization</quote>.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H38835D4E252B47EFB8B76DFBF386C7B2"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Specified organization</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/84">Section 84(c)</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended to read as follows:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H80312E0010164F21AE9F4023E20F1689"> <subsection id="H5BA90B6E55D340F0B358F5391D3A09D4"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Specified organization</header><text>For purposes of this section, the term <term>specified organization</term> means—</text>
<paragraph id="H4BF0F728035540CAA4BC3B2BDF7698AF"><enum>(1)</enum><text>any political organization (as defined in section 527(e)(1)), and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HFE00AFBA652247A69E03BE54DE9C62AB"><enum>(2)</enum><text>any organization described in paragraph (4), (5), or (6) of section 501(c).</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection>
<subsection id="HCCA89EEA2C784F11A7A4E5E560010983"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Clerical amendments</header>
<paragraph id="H9EFCE55EC1074634A1224A150DFBAD5B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>The heading of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/84">section 84</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended by striking <quote><header-in-text level="section" style="OLC">political</header-in-text></quote> and inserting <quote><header-in-text level="section" style="OLC">specified</header-in-text></quote>.</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HF1F07555E7E54AC7BA944B20BA80168F"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The item relating to section 84 in the table of sections for part II of subchapter B of chapter 1 of such Code is amended to read as follows: </text>

<subsection id="H3D4B31E597A8499BBE9175859302B788"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply to transfer after the date of the enactment of this Act, in taxable years ending after such date.</text></subsection></section> </legis-body></bill>
