and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph><paragraph id="H0A9A45952F784A968703AFF3C2757730"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in subsection (f), as so redesignated—</text><subparagraph id="H699B199F1B3E4643A02F02F05E027608"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by striking <quote>subsection (c)(1)</quote> and inserting <quote>subsection (d)(1)</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H0323A62D45D0499F8731C3BD766A813C"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in paragraph (2), by striking <quote>subsection (c)(2)</quote> and inserting <quote>subsection (d)(2)</quote>. </text></subparagraph></paragraph></section><section id="H38E8B91B6AF04586A7EEAC19360AF4BB"><enum>3.</enum><header>Removal of expectation of payments by organ recipients</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 377(e) of the Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/274f">42 U.S.C. 274f(e)</external-xref>), as redesignated by section 2, is amended—</text><paragraph id="H43F9628EF58F4C97926423FE3D2C6EC5" commented="no"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in paragraph (1), by adding <quote>or</quote> at the end;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HDFD34AED18594EC0B7B13781736ED04D" commented="no"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in paragraph (2), by striking <quote>; or</quote> and inserting a period; and </text></paragraph><paragraph id="HB133442C63C547A7B91F1527DB570FB6"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by striking paragraph (3).</text></paragraph></section><section id="H7AC616299F6540C499367FD124C01E68"><enum>4.</enum><header>Annual report</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 377 of the Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/274f">42 U.S.C. 274f</external-xref>), as amended by sections 2 and 3, is further amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block id="H3CBF2E3EFC3B4B6E9F665FD4A2B522B3" style="OLC" changed="added" reported-display-style="italic" committee-id="HIF00"><subsection id="H6A14DC42B2BB4EA39DF86AA1E89537A8"><enum>(h)</enum><header>Annual report</header><text>Not later than December 31 of each year, the Secretary shall—</text><paragraph id="H33C5DD72D32844CEBD937F1956A077E7"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">prepare, submit to the Congress, and make public a report on whether grants under this section provided adequate funding during the preceding fiscal year to reimburse all donating individuals participating in the grant program under this section for all qualifying expenses; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H4A488EAF8A09431FB92768CA6CCA0523"><enum>(2)</enum><text>include in each such report—</text><subparagraph id="HB0804F1971564781B6E32C5ABABE589F"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the estimated number of all donating individuals participating in the grant program under this section who did not receive reimbursement for all qualifying expenses during the preceding fiscal year; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H7CA9D74DF82F42348E706055CE011B53"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the total amount of funding that is estimated to be necessary to fully reimburse all donating individuals participating in the grant program under this section for all qualifying expenses.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body><endorsement display="yes"><action-date date="20240723">July 23, 2024</action-date><action-desc>Reported with an amendment, committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union, and ordered to be printed</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
