R. 5861</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20240918">September 18, 2024</action-date><action-desc>Received; read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSFI00">Committee on Finance</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>AN ACT</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To extend reemployment services and eligibility assessments to all claimants for unemployment benefits, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" style="OLC" id="HEC51D9281C09411D9EB64AB8CAF7CFF3"><pagebreak></pagebreak><section id="HF3BF37C6FAA546068D71D9E1E3A82F2D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Building on Reemployment Improvements to Deliver Good Employment for Workers Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>BRIDGE for Workers Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HA5F625703A0C44548609A55E32E24E30"><enum>2.</enum><header>Eligibility for reemployment services</header><subsection id="H48BD122E8F644A96B19A23D8F2A7419E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 306(a) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/506">42 U.S.C. 506(a)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H8236AA5082FD436CA751521580420730"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>individuals referred to reemployment services as described in section 303(j)</quote> and inserting <quote>claimants for regular compensation, including claimants referred to reemployment services as described in section 303(j),</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H08AB18D3FBD34C34BF94E1600A06BC0F"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>such individuals</quote> and inserting <quote>such claimants</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HA6D81BD9C65543138573A68E58114E85"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the date of enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section></legis-body><attestation><attestation-group><attestation-date date="20240917" chamber="House">Passed the House of Representatives September 17, 2024.</attestation-date><attestor display="yes">Kevin F.
