R. 4385</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date>February 6, 2024</action-date><action-desc>Received; read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSEG00">Committee on Energy and Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>AN ACT</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To extend authorization of the Reclamation States Emergency Drought Relief Act of 1991.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HE519CC60BC814B1CBA0E27B736BE6734" style="OLC"><section id="HA604B690A9F948EAAF9885FE19A7E06F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Drought Preparedness Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H7A404F1A02D942AE8761FF8795303BE8"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extension of authorization</header><subsection id="HFC9EC0164F724CD9804B042B7558275A"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Drought program</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 104(c) of the Reclamation States Emergency Drought Relief Act of 1991 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/43/2214">43 U.S.C. 2214(c)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>2022</quote> and inserting <quote>2028</quote>.</text></subsection><subsection id="HE96B7FD6B5ED4544B6429C2688757F72"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text>Section 301 of the Reclamation States Emergency Drought Relief Act of 1991 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/43/2241">43 U.S.C. 2241</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>2022</quote> and inserting <quote>2028</quote>. </text></subsection></section></legis-body><attestation><attestation-group><attestation-date date="20240205" chamber="House">Passed the House of Representatives February 5, 2024.</attestation-date><attestor display="yes">Kevin F.
