<official-title display="yes">To amend title 38, United States Code, to make certain improvements in the laws relating to the appointment of the Under Secretary of Health and Assistant Under Secretaries of Health of the Department of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes.<pagebreak/></official-title>

<section id="H3F5A2BB8342D4DF7BC2BBAA26AF95DE5" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Veterans Health Administration Leadership Transformation Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section> <section id="H15519089156B4D08AC47F16393621DC7"><enum>2.</enum><header>Office of the Under Secretary for Health of the Department of Veterans Affairs</header> <subsection id="H52C57FC7FBC44937A9D6A82196AA8618"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Term of Under Secretary</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 305(a)(1) of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new sentence: <quote>An individual appointed to serve as the Under Secretary of Health shall be appointed for a term of five years.</quote>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H67F146C970E74679AAA639258DDD3429"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Elimination of certain requirements for Assistant Under Secretaries</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 7306 of such title is amended—</text> <paragraph id="H34375BE41A6B45B5AF99D59F69452435"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking subsection (b);</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H343B7F49AB81416C8DC85883B72DA7F9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating subsections (c) through (g) as subsections (b) through (f), respectively; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H2C50ACA07B51425FA00D47E2A9B98E29"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in subsection (c), as so redesignated, by striking <quote>subsection (e)</quote> and inserting <quote>subsection (d)</quote>. </text></paragraph></subsection></section>
