R. 10075</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20241029">October 29, 2024</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="O000175">Mr. Ogles</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="M001211">Mrs. Miller of Illinois</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HIF00">Committee on Energy and Commerce</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To prohibit an entity from receiving Federal funds if such entity provides to any person any medical or surgical intervention for the purpose of assisting an individual’s disassociation from his or her sex.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H45B743BB62094EC48FF1EC06EB6094AE" style="OLC"><section id="H11FF48C2CE9C4A33804C5E9930A379F9" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Stopping the Mutilation of Children Act of 2024</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HBF00E96BFCC9411F9E9D5101582A4A9A" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition</header><subsection id="H33B880B6528F444C8AAC9A7D7DA841E9"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In General</header><text>Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no Federal funds may be provided, directly or indirectly, to an entity which provides to any person any medical or surgical intervention for the purpose of assisting an individual’s disassociation from his or her sex.</text></subsection><subsection id="H06906F1BA63644D29BCC4F9EB22C3933"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Rule of Construction</header><text>Nothing in this Act shall be construed to prohibit funding to entities which provide medical or surgical intervention in response to a developmental or genetic anomaly or historical accident.</text></subsection></section><section id="HD567BE5B16144241986FDA125618BA0C"><enum>3.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act:</text><paragraph id="H3E0CB173F8BE4C959FEF1425DC800109"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Female</header><text>The term <term>female</term> refers to an individual who has, had, will have, or would have, but for a developmental or genetic anomaly or historical accident, the reproductive system that at some point produces, transports, and utilizes eggs for fertilization.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H6BF40F363D7E4F65BA9296844D3BF875"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Male</header><text>The term <term>male</term> refers to an individual who has, had, will have, or would have, but for a developmental or genetic anomaly or historical accident, the reproductive system that at some point produces, transports, and utilizes sperm for fertilization.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H3100396AF1074DF8A8C98BEB980390A9"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Sex</header><text>The term <term>sex</term> refers to biological sex, either male or female.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
