<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 3447</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20231207">December 7, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S409">Mr. Luján</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S365">Mr. Scott of South Carolina</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S372">Mrs. Capito</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S311">Ms. Klobuchar</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S384">Mr. Tillis</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSHR00">Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To reauthorize the program to support residential treatment programs for pregnant and postpartum women, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Pregnant and Postpartum Women Treatment Reauthorization Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id0e10758c2fd34e3a80a7413b0c3c795a"><enum>2.</enum><header>Reauthorization of program</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 508 of the Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/290bb-1">42 U.S.C. 290bb–1</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idc6dbeb3a39ad4b129a1c431af1e9b4b3"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (d)(11)(C), by striking <quote>providing health services</quote> and inserting <quote>providing health care services</quote>;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id8e96416d974c4390ac6cdf360a7003c7"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (g)—</text><subparagraph id="id3fa2acc6f9fc476490ee9ec83d87570e"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by inserting <quote>a plan describing</quote> after <quote>will provide</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id2efde81d49814620971fc29f2c85cc43"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following: <quote>Such plan may include a description of how such applicant will target outreach to women disproportionately impacted by maternal substance use disorder.</quote>; and </text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id5d3268282bc74572a1e861fc1032db66"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subsection (s), by striking <quote>$29,931,000 for each of fiscal years 2019 through 2023</quote> and inserting <quote>$38,931,000 for each of fiscal years 2024 through 2028</quote>.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
