<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 3000</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20230929" legis-day="20230922">September 29 (legislative day, September 22), 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S380">Mr. Peters</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S350">Mr. Rubio</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S324">Mrs. Shaheen</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S373">Mr. Cassidy</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S390">Mr. Van Hollen</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S423">Mr. Ricketts</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S389">Mr. Kennedy</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSFR00">Committee on Foreign Relations</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To repeal Freedom Support Act section 907 waiver authority with respect to assistance to Azerbaijan.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Armenian Protection Act of 2023</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id28320933e22b486ea37680c2821a83cf" commented="no"><enum>2.</enum><header>Freedom Support Act section 907 waiver repeal</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Title II of the Foreign Operations, Export Financing, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2002 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/107/115">Public Law 107–115</external-xref>) (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/5812">22 U.S.C. 5812</external-xref> note) is amended, under the heading <quote><header-in-text style="OLC" level="paragraph">assistance for the independent states of the former soviet union</header-in-text></quote>, in subsection (g)—</text><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id11578a77ce75498486eddfd60643b903"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in paragraph (1), by striking <quote>(1)</quote>;</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idf45961f01af94547b6cc1ef5b9587870"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking paragraphs (2) through (6); and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id4cdda66bc2e9447f99f8802766a70e1f"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by redesignating subparagraphs (A) through (F) as paragraphs (1) through (6), respectively.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
