<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>118th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 2925</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20230926" legis-day="20230922">September 26 (legislative day, September 22), 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S389">Mr. Kennedy</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S384">Mr. Tillis</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSBK00">Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010 to set the rate of pay for employees of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection in accordance with the General Schedule.</official-title></form><legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause"><section section-type="section-one" id="S1"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>CFPB Pay Fairness Act of 2023</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id115da86e788a4e4ba0aaf265ba704bf2"><enum>2.</enum><header>Rate of pay for employees of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection</header><subsection id="idd48579aae915472596853ef980af3e0e"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Section 1013(a)(2) of the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/5493">12 U.S.C. 5493(a)(2)</external-xref>) is amended to read as follows:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id48018d7fdb0c4536bdaeeb8fee5390f1"><paragraph id="id2e2f79be56914b94b3a4a649d1fdca43"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Compensation</header><text>The rates of basic pay for all employees of the Bureau shall be set and adjusted by the Director in accordance with the General Schedule set forth in section 5332 of title 5, United States Code.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection id="id682d9f056d644495a98f74dcd604f996"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the date that is 90 days after the date of enactment of this Act. </text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
