R. 6819</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20231214">December 14, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="H001091">Mrs. Hinson</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HED00">Committee on Education and the Workforce</committee-name>, and in addition to the Committee on <committee-name committee-id="HIF00">Energy and Commerce</committee-name>, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To require the Secretary of Labor and Secretary of Energy to submit a report to Congress on occupations and career paths affected by changes in energy production and critical manufacturing.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H8F363F06EAB64C728F5B1937F987E390" style="OLC"><section id="H33A40FBEDC6A4417B65B3008DA0E7FCD" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Workforce Solutions Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H7ED63BFF9E5644A79747ACDC98E3BEE1" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Report on workforce</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Beginning not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Labor and the Secretary of Energy shall, jointly, submit to Congress, on an annual basis, an economic analysis of occupations and career paths impacted by changes in the energy and critical manufacturing industries, including information on—</text><paragraph id="H6C985EE771E046BCBD71CA2C8C8663F1"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">growth;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HB35BF8BA57DE4550A7D6D2760F94E185"><enum>(2)</enum><text>entry-level occupations;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H4775E8BC35D0497F99A44A2C6D4F2944"><enum>(3)</enum><text>pre-requisites for occupations;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HA93B7E143B4E4043AE8877831CAF1729"><enum>(4)</enum><text>living wage salaries;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HA5BDBC52DA9B4725A85279A378A6C81B"><enum>(5)</enum><text>career paths;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H50B0C62AC3C245CE9FA7AF19B3E3A3D8"><enum>(6)</enum><text>barriers that prevent individuals in under-served communities from acquiring employment in new occupations and career paths in such industries; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H81AD06F437BB40B9B68CFAA122C8D745"><enum>(7)</enum><text>how digital technology advancements are impacting the critical manufacturing industry.</text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
