R. 6723</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20231212">December 12, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="G000574">Mr. Gallego</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HII00">Committee on Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To reaffirm the applicability of the Act of June 18, 1934, to the Samish Indian Nation, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HE31905FB4A784E3DAE80E6E10F9C1964" style="OLC"><section id="H4435288CB6E246A0980503328C11BF0B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Reaffirmation of law</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The applicability of the Act of June 18, 1934 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/25/5101">25 U.S.C. 5101 et seq.</external-xref>; 48 Stat. 984, chapter 576) (commonly known as the <quote>Indian Reorganization Act</quote>) is reaffirmed for the Samish Indian Nation.</text></section><section id="HF8CE47FFB8EC442392E89A44B33A4BB7"><enum>2.</enum><header>No impact on treaty rights</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Nothing in this Act shall be interpreted as affecting treaty rights under the Treaty of Point Elliott.</text></section></legis-body></bill>
