Short title

This Act may be cited as the Reciprocity Efficiency and Age Limitation Trucking Act or the REAL Trucking Act.

2.

Age requirement for commercial motor vehicle operator

(a)

In general

Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Transportation shall issue such regulations as are necessary to update sections 383.5 and 390.5T of title 49, United States Code, to reduce the minimum age for an operator of a commercial motor vehicle from 21 years of age to 18 years of age. (b)

Conforming amendment

Section 23022 of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (49 U.S.C. 31315 note) is repealed.
