R. 6507</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20231129">November 29, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="L000603">Mr. Luttrell</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HVR00">Committee on Veterans' Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend title 38, United States Code, to authorize the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to furnish or replace a headstone, marker, or medallion for the grave of an eligible Medal of Honor recipient regardless of the recipient’s dates of service in the Armed Forces, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H1E5A8C5B6E784FBD8D695FE328B0BCAE" style="OLC"><section id="HC1768A85540C42F5938C5897CFADC453" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Mark Our Place Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H2337FA20DFCC44C191421427F34F109C"><enum>2.</enum><header>Expansion of eligibility for Government-furnished headstone, marker, or medallion for Medal of Honor recipients</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H37081ED3EE7648E5AE53F88EC083E617"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 2306(d)(5)(C) of title 38, United States Code, is amended—</text><paragraph id="HD8933D6C811F44C98EF4C03801AB0494"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking clause (i); </text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H3C1F4258084F47658038FA54D640FDDE"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in clause (ii), by inserting <quote>(except that subparagraph (B)(i) of such paragraph shall not apply)</quote> after <quote>paragraph (4)</quote>; and </text></paragraph><paragraph id="HA29746E15CA14824836F01A58E5B7FFA" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by redesignating clauses (ii) and (iii) as clauses (i) and (ii), respectively. </text></paragraph></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H2F0A0927DA684C0A80C59F2225D09DBD"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Technical correction</header><text>Section 2306(d)(5) of such title is amended by striking <quote>section 491</quote> both places it appears and inserting <quote>section 2732</quote>. </text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
