Short title

This Act may be cited as the Preserve Military Recognition Act of 2023.

Prohibition of gender-neutral pronoun in joint personal military decoration citations

Changes to Figure 3 (regarding opening sentences for joint personal military decoration citations of the Department of Defense) of the Manual of Military Decorations and Awards: DoD Joint Decorations and Awards (Department of Defense Manual 1348.33, Vol. 4 (December 21, 2016)) that became effective on August 7, 2023, and requires the use of the gender-neutral pronoun themself in joint personal military decoration citations of the Department of Defense, shall have no force or effect.
