R. 5505</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20230914">September 14, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="O000175">Mr. Ogles</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="H001086">Mrs. Harshbarger</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HED00">Committee on Education and the Workforce</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to remove a prohibition on the use of funds relating to the provision of a dangerous weapon or training in the use of a dangerous weapon.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HE622A31A9D67409BA1611C888710CAA6" style="OLC"><section id="HCA8F0D62962741E0BCE6B4559F32D4DA" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Educating Responsible Future Hunters Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H31A566743C9D42C59EBE7882D9BC97F5" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendment on ESEA funding</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 8526 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/7906">20 U.S.C. 7906</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H507E1C7139034F8786092E5858A5B931"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (5), by adding <quote>or</quote> after the semicolon;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H48FDE12A3B5F41BDA2344578063D9C37"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (6), by striking <quote>; or</quote> and inserting a period; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HD3087B5EFD5549B695B5F2E0BECCFD68"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by striking paragraph (7). </text></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
