<section id="H3B2152F244E746C694BA0C24FD9B6AEE" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Safeguarding Our Levees Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H030510B6E87945F7A45D460A1C72761F" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Emergency response to natural disasters</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 5 of the Flood Control Act of 1941 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/33/701n">33 U.S.C. 701n(a)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H6573A9E03F774FE38835006825ECBB0E"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a) by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block style="OLC" id="HDF58F6A404F84E24808D1864A52691F1" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <paragraph id="H0A9F318514CB44AD9E8DD6B3835E9801"><enum>(6)</enum><header>Deadline</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 180 days after receiving from a non-Federal sponsor of a project a request to repair or rehabilitate a flood control work described in paragraph (1), the Secretary shall initiate the repair or restoration of such flood control work.</text></paragraph> <after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H5C73AE1E692741E382674996C7D13CC4"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (d)(2) by inserting <quote>25 percent of</quote> before <quote>the difference</quote>.</text></paragraph></section> </legis-body></bill>
