R. 4566</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20230711">July 11, 2023</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="T000468">Ms. Titus</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HVR00">Committee on Veterans' Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend title 38, United States Code, to prohibit the Secretary of Veterans Affairs from requiring evidence of a certain dose of radiation to determine that a veteran is a radiation-exposed veteran, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H1D5CF93D89FA4D10B5B42F87AC25E630" style="OLC"><section id="HAD579BF301424E89962A565E3BFB9A9D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Providing Radiation Exposed Servicemembers Undisputed Medical Eligibility Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote>PRESUME Act</quote>.</text></section><section id="H9C98D9D6271A47A5ACDF25865B98520E" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition of requirement of evidence of a certain dose of radiation to determine that a veteran is a radiation-exposed veteran</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1112(c) of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text><quoted-block style="USC" id="H151BF7E8983345A58429EE3ADBF8695E" display-inline="no-display-inline"><paragraph id="HA7B6E742A1284522A4187FE8B345BB03" indent="up1"><enum>(5)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary may not require evidence of a certain dose of radiation to determine that a veteran is a radiation-exposed veteran.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
