R. 1722</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20231113">November 13, 2023</action-date><action-desc>Received</action-desc></action><legis-type>AN ACT</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Grand Ronde Reservation Act, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H58FD8F08867C436085F25409E3329380" style="OLC"><pagebreak></pagebreak><section id="H9732CFD9D66A4DFD808BEE2FD5DF1EF1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Grand Ronde Reservation Act Amendment of 2023</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HD3FA12BEF1CE4144882423DB8E8F6589"><enum>2.</enum><header>Grand Ronde Reservation Act amendment</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1(d) of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/100/425">Public Law 100–425</external-xref> (commonly known as the <quote>Grand Ronde Reservation Act</quote>; 102 Stat. 1594; 108 Stat. 4566) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H1FF4F6301DDB4D0ABC37F226FAF08C78"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by striking <quote>lands within the State of Oregon</quote> and inserting <quote>the 84 acres known as the Thompson Strip</quote>;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H2DD297075F54401183F75DAD93603DB5"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating paragraph (2) as paragraph (3); and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HD058585C1B5A4A8A8286D57699D02B44"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by inserting after paragraph (1) the following:</text><quoted-block id="H2A5C5642296D4BBCB2761C47152E5474" style="OLC"><paragraph id="H4BD5100AB6AD4E878F10ED7C5FB640D6"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Gaming prohibition</header><text>Any real property obtained by the Tribes as part of a land claim settlement approved by the United States, including any real property purchased with funds granted as part of any land claim settlement, shall not be eligible, or used, for any class II gaming or class III gaming under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/25/2701">25 U.S.C. 2701 et seq.</external-xref>) (as those terms are defined in section 4 of that Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/25/2703">25 U.S.C. 2703</external-xref>)).</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section><section id="H489A6FD5BA204AE9AEBBCB35A1DE6F61"><enum>3.</enum><header>Treaty rights of federally recognized tribes</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"> Nothing in this Act, or an amendment made by this Act, shall be construed to enlarge, confirm, adjudicate, affect, or modify any treaty right of an Indian Tribe (as defined in section 4 of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/25/5304">25 U.S.C. 5304</external-xref>)).</text></section></legis-body><attestation><attestation-group><attestation-date date="20231108" legis-day="20231108" chamber="House">Passed the House of Representatives November 8, 2023.</attestation-date><attestor display="yes">Kevin F.
