Cost-sharing requirements applicable to certain Bureau of Reclamation dams and dikes

Section 4309 of the America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 (43 U.S.C. 377b note; Public Law 115–270) is amended—(1)in the section heading, by inserting dams and before dikes;(2)in subsection (a), by striking effective beginning on the date of enactment of this section, the Federal share of the operations and maintenance costs of a dike described in subsection (b) and inserting the Federal share of the dam safety modifications costs of a dike described in subsection (c);(3) by redesignating subsection (b) as subsection (c); (4)by inserting after subsection (a) the following:(b)

Gate repairs

Notwithstanding any other provision of law (including regulations), effective during the 10-year period beginning on the date of enactment of this Act, the Federal share of the costs to repair or replace a gate and any ancillary gate components of a dam described in subsection (c) shall be 100 percent.; and(5)in subsection (c) (as so redesignated)—(A)in the subsection heading, by inserting dams and before dikes;(B)in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking A dike referred to in subsection (a) is a and inserting A dam or dike referred to in subsections (a) and (b) is a dam or; and(C)in paragraph (2), by striking December 31, 1945 and inserting December 31, 1948.
