<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><congress>117th CONGRESS</congress><session>2d Session</session><legis-num>S. 3568</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20220202">February 2, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S349">Mr. Portman</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="S345">Mr. Johnson</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the <committee-name committee-id="SSCM00">Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To prohibit the Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration from accepting warrants for the arrest of aliens as valid proof of identification at airport security checkpoints, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Prohibiting the Use of Arrest Warrants for Identification at Security Checkpoints Act of 2022</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H4652C6C66AB140D2827D0DCA91602AC3"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition against acceptance of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrest warrants as identification at airport security checkpoints</header><subsection id="H6F8094C3B75A430C9E116C17D0AA952D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration may not accept a prohibited document as valid proof of identification or as an acceptable alternate identification at an airport security checkpoint. </text></subsection><subsection id="HEB57D25E087F4E3589FF96C1DE723AAF"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Exception</header><text>Subsection (a) shall not apply with respect to an alien who is being removed from the United States in accordance with the immigration laws (as such term is defined in section 101 of the Immigration and National Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1101">8 U.S.C. 1101</external-xref>)). </text></subsection><subsection id="id9E14B91C04624FBDBF449A66CDA9D399"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Prohibited document defined</header><text>In this section, the term <term>prohibited document</term> means any of the following:</text><paragraph id="H8DB0695CF0A84170B1252FF47AFC6284"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Form I–200, Warrant for Arrest of Alien (or any successor form).</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H7D7181F7F0E64554AD266574BF03E01A" commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(2)</enum><text>U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Form I–205, Warrant of Removal/Deportation (or any successor form).</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
