<whereas><text>Whereas a resilient supply of safe drinking water is critical to the health and success of the Nation;</text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas source water protection is a proactive approach to safeguarding, maintaining, and improving the quality and quantity of drinking water sources and the land that surrounds them;</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas protecting drinking water sources is critical to public health, the environment, the economy, and national security;</text></whereas> <whereas><text>Whereas safe, reliable water is essential for food preparation, daily sanitation, and the everyday conveniences on which the people of the United States rely, and is increasingly vital to protect as the population continues to grow; and</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas the recognition of National Source Water Protection Week—</text> <paragraph id="HAFECA68A400A40B093AE6E84725C8E5E"><enum>(1)</enum><text>celebrates stewardship of water and watersheds;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HF5E87B6466BE43C28BC44DDCC68A7F9D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>reaffirms commitment of the United States to protecting and sustaining drinking water supply sources for current and future generations; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H6EC0AE0CC0B14DF7B7CD2A9E7C577505"><enum>(3)</enum><text>encourages the people of the United States to protect, conserve, and restore drinking water sources: Now, therefore, be it</text></paragraph></whereas></preamble><resolution-body style="traditional" id="HBDF3F0821C174391B1E48AD584481118"> 
<section id="H702FF17845594D589769C615E6099509" section-type="undesignated-section" display-inline="yes-display-inline"><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That the House of Representatives—</text> <paragraph id="HFFB4EA00B0084C9B93DEEB47ADECACCC"><enum>(1)</enum><text>supports the designation of <quote>National Source Water Protection Week</quote>;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H89F3431A93E24E2FAC6FDAD9B6465D80"><enum>(2)</enum><text>supports the protection of source water for public health and economic prosperity;</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HD07BC4692E8B4C14A233627B698BC13A"><enum>(3)</enum><text>recognizes the central role of water in sustaining life and supports innovative ways to conserve, protect, and restore the Nation’s drinking water sources;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HDE695045679E47308C9C3215EB478184"><enum>(4)</enum><text>supports collaboration at the local, State, and Federal levels to achieve greater awareness, education, and engagement to protect and enhance drinking water supplies; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HFB3194413A6A4B73921EC408EC663420"><enum>(5)</enum><text>supports investments for more resilient and reliable drinking water sources, both ground and surface water, to better withstand the impacts of extreme floods and droughts.</text></paragraph></section>
