which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HII00" added-display-style="italic" deleted-display-style="strikethrough">Committee on Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><action><action-date>September 28, 2022</action-date><action-desc>Reported adversely with an amendment, referred to the House Calendar, and ordered to be printed</action-desc><action-instruction>Strike out all after the resolving clause and insert the part printed in italic</action-instruction><action-instruction>For text of introduced resolution, see copy of resolution as introduced on July 22, 2022</action-instruction></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Of inquiry directing the Secretary of Agriculture to transmit certain documents to the House of Representatives relating to the mineral withdrawal within the Superior National Forest.</official-title></form><resolution-body changed="added" style="traditional" committee-id="HII00" reported-display-style="italic" id="H82C1C59403C24A0C90CFFE20A0FA1A8D"><section id="H12AE06AA9BDA409CB85970CA6DA44CF3" section-type="undesignated-section" display-inline="yes-display-inline"><enum/><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That the Secretary of Agriculture is directed to transmit to the House of Representatives, not later than 14 days after the date of the adoption of this resolution, copies of any document, memorandum, correspondence, and other communication or any portion of any such communication, that refers or relates to the mineral withdrawal within the Superior National Forest and composition of the Duluth Complex, including the following:</text><paragraph id="H771D0F22ED8A46E69F921A5484BF424C"><enum>(1)</enum><text>All documents and communications relating to the minerals found within the Duluth complex, including but not limited to any reference to—</text><subparagraph id="H7F32BF225A5142C18E218EAE92A16ADA"><enum>(A)</enum><text>the amount of copper or recognized critical minerals found; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H3BCA9DBA2D234A38BD2D055E81FBE91A"><enum>(B)</enum><text>minerals needed for infrastructure, renewable energy, or electric vehicle production.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HFB5FE4352AD8483F99B8A6EEC91CF66A"><enum>(2)</enum><text>All documents and communications referring or relating to initiating the mineral withdrawal process within Superior National Forest.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H21044EC4F28F490DA989FC407C74095F"><enum>(3)</enum><text>All documents and communications relating to the impact of the mineral withdrawal on Twin Metals operation, including but not limited to any reference to—</text><subparagraph id="HE3BB8282321C42D3868D19F1DF66871C"><enum>(A)</enum><text>preventing production of minerals;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HCD4B31148D6C4EC0A0E900028E1197B4"><enum>(B)</enum><text>union project labor agreements; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HC2CF5844B6B44139B942F011C4FD1C2D"><enum>(C)</enum><text>the loss of economic benefits at the State and local level.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HC767A7E33D454E94BACE9E49D5DB4A53"><enum>(4)</enum><text>All documents and communications relating to the impact of the two-year pause on mineral activity in Superior National Forest while the mineral withdrawal application is considered, including but not limited to any reference to—</text><subparagraph id="H9436973D1BA046C9925A8743F997511F"><enum>(A)</enum><text>national security implications;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H252800FC817146599DEB04039A6E9437"><enum>(B)</enum><text>mineral supply chain stability implications;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H31DD0C0496A14FE6A321E074B202E356"><enum>(C)</enum><text>increased dependence on foreign minerals; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H5D75AB0172AF46DFBD87E66C995650BC"><enum>(D)</enum><text>the economic losses at the State and local level.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HBAF21B6B5EE9488FB5BF5D8C0CF36242"><enum>(5)</enum><text>Any meeting or communication that occurred between Secretary Tom Vilsack, or his representative, and environmental advocacy groups referring or relating to the mineral withdrawal application in Superior National Forest.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HC5282AB44C5047FABAADE792A8564DFE"><enum>(6)</enum><text>All documents and communications referring or related to the U.S. Forest Service’s Environmental Assessment recommending a mineral withdrawal in the Superior National Forest.</text></paragraph></section></resolution-body><endorsement display="yes"><action-date>September 28, 2022</action-date><action-desc>Reported adversely with an amendment, referred to the House Calendar, and ordered to be printed</action-desc></endorsement></resolution>
