RES. 1249</legis-num><associated-doc role="report" display="yes">[Report No. 117–488]</associated-doc><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220722">July 22, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="M001213">Mr. Moore of Utah</sponsor> submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name></action-desc></action><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220922">September 22, 2022</action-date><action-desc>Reported adversely with an amendment, referred to the House Calendar, and ordered to be printed</action-desc><action-instruction>Strike out all after the resolving clause and insert the part printed in italic</action-instruction><action-instruction>For text of introduced bill, see copy of bill as introduced on July 22, 2022</action-instruction></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Of inquiry directing the Secretary of the Interior to transmit certain documents to the House of Representatives relating to the impact of illegal immigration on federal or tribal lands.</official-title></form><resolution-body changed="added" style="traditional" committee-id="HJU00" reported-display-style="italic" id="H4D5893ECA5CF4020B2C624A6650DF892"><section id="H42BEC57208C54C1B831807A1F0D19514" section-type="undesignated-section" display-inline="yes-display-inline"><enum/><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That the Secretary of the Interior is directed to transmit to the House of Representatives, not later than fourteen days after the date of the adoption of this resolution, copies of any document, memorandum, correspondence, and other communication or any portion of any such communication, that refers or relates to the impact of illegal immigration on Federal or Tribal lands, including the following:</text><paragraph id="HC655FD4CEB724A078C4F3D4BC9AACBC6"><enum>(1)</enum><text>All documents and communications related to the current level of environmental damage to Federal protected and Tribal lands along the Southern border, including but not limited to—</text><subparagraph id="H1AF8316F78EC4D8BB6BF38C5226B19F0"><enum>(A)</enum><text>any reference to the accumulation of garbage;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HB1D32D8F350C47D9924F0653A3EDF9E7"><enum>(B)</enum><text>any reference to habitat destruction;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HD546E8963FDF41D3A4442ECC071AF025"><enum>(C)</enum><text>any reference to wildlife deaths; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H40A518FC9BFD473DBA6742EB39111423"><enum>(D)</enum><text>any reference to the creation of illegal trails.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H85D91E23DD574958A44B979842857A22"><enum>(2)</enum><text>All documents and communications referring or relating to coordinating garbage removal efforts along the Southern border.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HAD6BFD4E5BFA4CC98AFAF8E620D77FCF"><enum>(3)</enum><text>All documents and communications referring to the transport of illicit drugs across federal or tribal lands, including but not limited to—</text><subparagraph id="H2E013D2E241344CAA4829B38198D8A11"><enum>(A)</enum><text>any reference to tribal concerns about drug trafficking;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HC80E1B8F1210402BB408F1D95D6FEF7E"><enum>(B)</enum><text>any reference to Department of the Interior employees’ concerns about drug trafficking on federal lands; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HDFA00095822B496A8B22C315D2870973"><enum>(C)</enum><text>any reference to reports of drug cartels crossing Federal or Tribal lands.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HCF5E9077461544D4A95EA6363599C415"><enum>(4)</enum><text>Any meeting or communication that occurred between Secretary Debra Haaland, or her representative, with Tribal representatives referring or relating to drug cartel activity on Tribal lands.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HF52FDAC35FC74C7E93CEFE883953C98A"><enum>(5)</enum><text>Any meeting or communication that occurred between Secretary Debra Haaland and Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, or their representatives, referring or relating to drug cartel activity on Federal or Tribal lands.</text></paragraph></section><section id="H64CAA203C5394CE4987272EA4D76B233" section-type="undesignated-section"></section></resolution-body><endorsement display="yes"><action-date date="20220922">September 22, 2022</action-date><action-desc>Reported adversely with an amendment, referred to the House Calendar, and ordered to be printed</action-desc></endorsement></resolution>
