RES. 1246</legis-num><associated-doc role="report" display="yes">[Report No. 117–522]</associated-doc><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220722">July 22, 2022</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S001195">Mr. Smith of Missouri</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="B000755">Mr. Brady</cosponsor>) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HWM00">Committee on Ways and Means</committee-name></action-desc></action><action display="yes"><action-date date="20220928">September 28, 2022</action-date><action-desc>Reported adversely from the <committee-name committee-id="HWM00">Committee on Ways and Means</committee-name>, referred to the House Calendar, and ordered to be printed</action-desc></action><legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type><official-title display="yes">Of inquiry directing the Secretary of the Treasury to provide certain documents in the Secretary’s possession to the House of Representatives relating to recovery rebates under <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/6428B">section 6428B</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.</official-title></form><resolution-body style="traditional" id="H5DAA9B3242F24C82B16338C5F18A810F"><section display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section" id="H2C3A5CEEACAA46199ADB22E75567C2B9"><enum/><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That the Secretary of the Treasury is directed to transmit to the House of Representatives, not later than 14 days after the adoption of this resolution, copies of any document, record, memo, correspondence, or other communication, or any portion of any such communication, that refers or relates to the following:</text><paragraph id="H4D57635C06A64FEC88C1C8D6F0B845C2"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The total number of recovery rebates issued under <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/6428B">section 6428B</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (whether as a credit under subsection (a) of such section or as a deemed payment under subsection (g) of such section), as added by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, to incarcerated individuals, individuals who were nonresident aliens (including foreign nationals living outside the United States) on the date of enactment of such Act, individuals who were unlawfully present or unauthorized to work in the United States on that date, and to any individuals who died before January 1, 2021, but not including any personally identifiable information about any such individual.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H5AF3B6C02A5342E2A85CB9CD463371B3"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The total dollar amount of such recovery rebates issued to incarcerated individuals, individuals who were nonresident aliens (including foreign nationals living outside the United States) on the date of enactment of such Act, individuals who were unlawfully present or unauthorized to work in the United States on that date, and to any individuals who died before January 1, 2021, but not including any personally identifiable information about any such individual.</text></paragraph></section></resolution-body><endorsement display="yes"><action-date date="20220928">September 28, 2022</action-date><action-desc>Reported adversely from the <committee-name committee-id="HWM00">Committee on Ways and Means</committee-name>, referred to the House Calendar, and ordered to be printed</action-desc></endorsement></resolution>
