R. 4290</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210630">June 30, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="T000478">Ms. Tenney</sponsor> (for herself, <cosponsor name-id="B001311">Mr. Bishop of North Carolina</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S001196">Ms. Stefanik</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="H001052">Mr. Harris</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="F000449">Mr. Fortenberry</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001274">Mr. Brooks</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001212">Mr. Moore of Alabama</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="W000809">Mr. Womack</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B000825">Mrs. Boebert</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="R000614">Mr. Roy</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001299">Mr. Banks</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="K000376">Mr. Kelly of Pennsylvania</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="R000609">Mr. Rutherford</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HWM00">Committee on Ways and Means</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to prohibit 501(c)(3) organizations from providing direct funding to official election organizations.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H2D67C4E2701D4629897B02353370241C" style="OLC"><section id="HC2A20C5E44CC45288541389D493714F2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>End Zuckerbucks Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="HCB680F5754894A20A6539A5085AA7B54"><enum>2.</enum><header>501(<enum-in-header>c</enum-in-header>)(3) organizations prohibited from providing direct funding to election organizations</header><subsection id="HF2468EB5F5024CAAAD40E6CC7A4A0322"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/501">Section 501(c)(3)</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended—</text><paragraph id="H65F67CC95FA24970802B0C2AB32CA33C"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>and which does not participate</quote> and inserting <quote>which does not participate</quote>, and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H248F09DC39334B5299117568D166478C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>and which does not provide direct funding to official election organizations, including any State or local government entity or any government election organization.</quote>. </text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H7AEBF151969541D8B07C26C013370AB3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply to funding provided in taxable years beginning after December 31, 2021. </text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
