R. 3307</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210518">May 18, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="H001082">Mr. Hern</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HWM00">Committee on Ways and Means</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To eliminate the extension of Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HEC34259AEBB84E5EBA3F383C4F2657F4" style="OLC"><section id="H58C9AE2950704346A0A97D652007D066" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Help Wanted Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H5DBD21481CA64055955955EBADF18709"><enum>2.</enum><header>Elimination of the extension of Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation</header><subsection id="HF9AAC8E134B940548A39782A6FB9614E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Section 2104(e)(2) of the CARES Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/9023">15 U.S.C. 9023(e)(2)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>September 6, 2021</quote> and inserting <quote>the first Monday that is on or after the date that is 14 days after the date of enactment of the Help Wanted Act</quote>.</text></subsection><subsection id="H71208DE121D749E79AE83F8130843C3A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Amount</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 2104(b)(3)(A)(ii) of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/9023">15 U.S.C. 9023(b)(3)(A)(ii)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>September 6, 2021</quote> and inserting <quote>the first Monday that is on or after the date that is 14 days after the date of enactment of the Help Wanted Act</quote>.</text></subsection><subsection id="HB3A1B3182F2D4834B4DECBCA43A8F3B5"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Applications</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 2104(b) of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/9023">15 U.S.C. 9023(b)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block style="OLC" id="HF8F763B2C9E7466AB3B740D9C2771FED" display-inline="no-display-inline"><paragraph id="H6F9FF8BE8369492C9A7E4768C408269D"><enum>(5)</enum><header>Application deadline</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">As a condition of the agreement under this section, a State may not accept an application for an increase in unemployment benefits under this section on or after the date of enactment of the Help Wanted Act.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
